What are the responsibilities and job description for the Content Marketer position at Akia?
Role Overview
We're looking for a Content Marketer who lives at the intersection of AI, hospitality, and storytelling. This role is equal parts creator and strategist — you'll be responsible for building a content engine around AI agents and their transformative impact on the hospitality industry, while working hand-in-hand with senior leadership to shape and amplify the company's voice.
You'll be tracking emerging trends in real time, digging into data to back up what you're seeing, and turning those insights into compelling narratives — whether that's a thought leadership piece under the CEO's name, a data-driven trend report, or a sharp take on LinkedIn. You'll blend the strategic rigor of product marketing with the creative instincts of a born content creator.
About Akia
Akia is the system of action for hospitality. She handles guest communication, drives direct bookings, manages upsells, and runs the full guest journey from welcome to welcome back. From slope-side vacation rentals to 500-room oceanfront resorts where every guest expects to feel like the only one, she shows up, learns the property, and gets to work.
We're building the AI agent that runs modern hotels and vacation rentals.
What You'll Do
- Own the content strategy around AI, AI agents, and their application in hospitality — from ideation through publishing and distribution.
- Ghostwrite for senior leadership, crafting thought leadership pieces, social posts, and bylines that position the company and its leaders as authorities in the space.
- Create original content under your own byline, building your own credibility and following alongside the brand's.
- Monitor and interpret trends across AI, agents, and hospitality — staying plugged into the conversations happening on social media, in industry publications, and within the builder community.
- Pull and leverage data to substantiate trends, validate narratives, and add depth to content. You're not afraid of a spreadsheet or a dashboard — you actively seek out numbers to strengthen your storytelling.
- Bridge content and product marketing — translating product capabilities, use cases, and customer outcomes into stories that resonate with target audiences.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align content with company strategy, messaging, and go-to-market priorities.
What We're Looking For
- You have a genuine passion for AI agents — not just a passing interest, but a real curiosity about how autonomous systems are reshaping industries.
- You're chronically online.
- You're data-curious and analytically minded. You instinctively look for the numbers behind the narrative and enjoy pulling insights from data to make content more credible and compelling.
- You're comfortable operating at the intersection of product marketing and content marketing, and you don't need rigid lane definitions to do great work.
