Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients across various settings. You will be responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations and assessments of patients' mental health conditions.
- Medication management
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and family planning when applicable.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive support for patients.
- Stay informed about current trends in psychiatric care, including utilization management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Requirements
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- Current Texas state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in psychiatric-mental health nursing.
- DEA Registration
- Malpractice Insurance
- Supervising Physician Agreement with Prescriptive Authority
- Experience working with children (preferred).
- Bilingual Skills- Spanish speaking (a plus).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
