Customer Care Representative (Remote)

Claims customer support

You’ll support claimants and clients by handling inbound and outbound communications, answering routine claims questions, documenting information accurately, and helping resolve issues related to disability and leave claims.

What you’ll do

• Provide claimants with information about short-term disability, insured, self-insured, statutory, and concurrent leave claims.
• Handle inbound calls from clients and claimants regarding claims and leave processes.
• Complete outbound calls and follow-up tasks for assigned clients and claimants.
• Document client and claimant information accurately in applicable systems.
• Answer routine claims questions and provide information about intake and reporting timelines.
• Resolve routine administrative and technical issues related to source systems.
• Support first-call resolution by providing accurate information and assistance.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements when handling sensitive information.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced inbound and outbound call center environment.

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 - 3 years of call center experience or equivalent customer service experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using web-based programs.
• High-speed home internet for remote work.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to type and speak simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work independently and remain focused in a remote environment.
• Strong problem-solving, active listening, and customer service skills.

Work requirements

• Ability to remain seated and take calls for extended periods during the scheduled shift.
• Ability to maintain reliable attendance and adhere to assigned schedules.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform extensive typing and computer-based work.
• No travel required.
