Manufacturing Quality Engineer
The Manufacturing Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring all products meet required quality standards, reducing quality‑related costs, and maximizing customer satisfaction. This role supports production, engineering, and cross‑functional teams by maintaining quality systems, resolving issues quickly, and driving continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer also leads efforts to establish and maintain quality processes in pursuit of ISO 9001 certification.
Responsibilities
- Lead team efforts toward achieving ISO 9001 certification
- Manage internal, supplier, and customer quality issues, including warranty concerns
- Identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions
- Conduct product and process audits
- Maintain and update control plans and quality documentation
- Track and report quality KPIs such as scrap, rework, and PPM
- Stop production when unacceptable product or processes are identified
- Collaborate with engineering on product build instructions and layup processes
- Support quality training and awareness across the team
- Participate in new product development and product changes
- Contribute to Design and Process FMEAs
- Lead quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support benchmarking studies and best‑practice development
- Lead or support technician groups and customer visits
- Maintain metrology equipment and ensure accurate quality data
- Communicate effectively across the shop floor and with management
- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental policies
Requirements & Qualifications
- 4‑year degree or 5 years equivalent experience
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA
- 3–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical writing skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of quality systems, measurement, and metrology
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
- Experience working with customers and suppliers
- Familiarity with OEM supplier portals and automotive compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Experience with PLEX ERP preferred
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
