Fabrication Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee employees across multiple manufacturing disciplines to ensure operational excellence.
• Develop and execute strategies that enhance on-time delivery, cost effectiveness, safety, quality, and overall productivity through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assess future staffing needs, build team capabilities, and conduct regular performance evaluations for direct reports.
• Partner with supporting departments on new or revised statements of work and maintain clear communication with internal customers to advance the fabrication of parts and assemblies.
• Utilize process management methodologies, analytical skills, and problem-solving techniques to create innovative, efficient solutions to fabrication and production challenges.
• Facilitate collaborative work teams, deliver training, and serve as a liaison with internal groups and external customers to support project planning, issue resolution, and process optimization.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
• Provide oversight, guidance, and approval for technical methods, processes, and product-related decisions.
• Effectively manage, develop, and motivate employees to achieve departmental goals.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Aerospace, Aviation, Machining, or related manufacturing environments.
• At least 5 years of experience leading teams in both formal and informal leadership capacities.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership and reporting production performance to senior management.
• Budget ownership or P&L review experience, and familiarity with monitoring or reporting production metrics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Assembly, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Machining.
• Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, or alternative workweek schedules.
  
  

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree and 10 years of leadership experience in Aerospace, Aviation, Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing, Chemical/Metallic Finishing, Assembly, or Machining.
• Experience with SAP and/or prior military leadership or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing production environments, including supervision of Union employees and experience in aircraft maintenance or machining.
• Broad, versatile background across various manufacturing and machining disciplines
