Responsibilities
- Provide contract guidance under tight timelines while drafting and reviewing agreements across the business
- Lead and support negotiations in complex commercial transactions with practical legal insight.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks through research, clear analysis, and well‑reasoned memoranda
- Protect and enforce trademarks, copyrights, patents, and other IP, including infringement investigations and portfolio management
- Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation strategy, discovery, and case support
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure regulatory and legal compliance across products, advertising, HR, and operations
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate a broad range of business contracts with minimal oversight
- Background in IP and advertising law, especially related to consumer products, is beneficial
- Holds a JD from an ABA‑accredited law school and maintains (or can obtain) appropriate licensure, including eligibility for a South Carolina in‑house license
- Brings 6 years of legal practice with strong independent judgment, teamwork skills, and proven success managing projects under tight deadlines
- Skilled at spotting legal issues, assessing risk, multitasking in fast‑paced environments, and willing to travel as needed.
