Company Overview

We are a growing Long Island–based eCommerce company specializing in branded consumer products. We work with well-known manufacturers and suppliers and operate across multiple online marketplaces. We are seeking a motivated Buyer's Assistant to support our buying team and help drive sales, profitability, and operational efficiency.

Position Summary

The Buyer's Assistant will work closely with the Senior Buyer to support day-to-day purchasing, vendor communication, pricing analysis, inventory management, and marketplace execution. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on eCommerce buying experience who is looking to grow within a fast-paced, data-driven retail environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in initiating and tracking purchase orders; monitor all open POs
• Support cost negotiations and review vendor terms
• Assist in monitoring pricing to ensure target margins and profitability
• Help maintain optimal inventory levels and forecast replenishment needs
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to prevent or resolve receiving, allocation, or fulfillment issues
• Support product allocation to FBA and other platforms
• Assist with product listings, page placement, content accuracy, and basic optimization
• Help manage promotions, pricing changes, and category updates across platforms
• Maintain regular communication with vendors and internal teams

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of eCommerce buying or purchasing experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage multiple SKUs, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with Amazon (FBA) and other online marketplaces
• Private label experience is a plus, but not required
