We are looking for a Day Shift Production Supervisor to join our rapidly expanding team in the Portland area. The Production Supervisor is a key contributor to the successful operation of the plant. This person will use their knowledge and technical expertise to achieve plant Key Performance Indicators and budgetary expectations. They will play a central role in the development of future leaders, continuous improvement of their line productivity and will cultivate a safe working environment for all of their team members.
Pay starts at $78,000 annually plus a potential 15% annual STI bonus
Shift starts at 6:00am, 8-10 hour shifts
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the Production Superintendent or Manager, establishes aggressive and innovative manufacturing practices and controls which are consistent with company objectives.
- Recommends and establishes work practices and procedures for designated production areas.
- Manage, guide, train, support and develop direct reports.
Troubleshoot operational problems using personal experience and other department’s resources
as needed.
- Forecast manpower, equipment and supplies needed for projects, objectives and goals
Responsible for the successful management and operation of Processing and/or Packaging
operations
Accountable for the oversight of training with regards to procedures, methods, policy, equipment
operation, new products, GMP’s and safe working practices
Responsible for the manufacture of safe, wholesome, quality products in the most cost effective
manner available.
- Responsible for the quantity and quality of all products produced
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 4 year/ Bachelor's Degree
- 3 years of progressive production leadership experince in a food manufactoring facility.
- Ability to mentor others, build teams, lead cross functional groups, and drive performance.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and presentation
skills. Bi-lingual a plus
- Must have skills in development and implementation of CI training
- Must have green belt or be actively enrolled in green belt certification training class.
- Basic understanding of Lean, SPC, 5S, Six Sigma, and other CI tools
Experience with computer application systems related to inventory, distribution, shipping or
receiving, especially JDE. Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Office components
- Excellent management, organization skills, and negotiating skills.

The working conditions of this job require the employee to frequently be exposed to wet, humid, and extremely cold conditions. Employee is occasionally exposed to vibration and the noise level can be moderate. To protect against these conditions, frequent use of personal protective equipment is required.
