Position Summary:
The Commissioning Project Manager is responsible for leading projects from equipment shipment through completion of commissioning, ensuring that customer requirements, schedules, and budgets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and internal teams, driving clear communication, effective collaboration, and strong professional relationships throughout the technical organization. The Commissioning Project Manager oversees project planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management, while coordinating cross-functional teams to meet key milestones and deliverables. In addition to managing active projects, the Project Manager supports future business growth by fostering customer relationships and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste across the organization.
Job Duties:
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams through clear verbal, written, and visual project updates.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to support current projects and future business opportunities.
- Review and manage contracts, purchase orders, and financials, ensuring accurate payment terms, cost tracking, and reporting of budget variances.
- Create, update, and present project schedules using Microsoft Project, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of changes and impacts.
- Monitor project progress and risks, identifying potential delays (including long-lead parts) and providing timely solutions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Paint, etc.) to meet project deliverables and commitments.
- Lead project meetings and conference calls with customers and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates and documentation.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure timely invoicing, follow-up on payments, and overall cost efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen project execution.
What you need to be successful:
- 5 years of experience in project management in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, Hi-pots, frequency generators).
- Ability up to 15% domestically and 5% internationally
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid U.S. Passport or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP Certification
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in induction heating and melting equipment an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and CRM systems.
