Job Duties
- Assess incoming products, raw materials, and services to ensure competitive pricing.
- Review stock materials and collaborate with vendors to meet purchasing goals.
- Analyze job costs when budgets are exceeded and report findings to Engineering and Purchasing Managers.
- Compare actual job costs to budgeted costs and identify cost-saving alternatives.
- Maintain and strengthen vendor and service provider relationships.
- Develop and implement proactive cost-cutting strategies.
- Maximize cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Seek and establish relationships with new potential suppliers.
- Provide weekly cost savings reports to Engineering and Purchasing Managers.
- Conduct Business Reviews to evaluate supplier performance in service, quality, and pricing.
What you need to be successful:
- 5 years of Engineering and Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
