Now Hiring: Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic

AJ Construction, Inc. is looking for an experienced, dependable Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to join our team at our headquarters in Richland, Mississippi, serving the Jackson metro area.

This is a full-time position for a well-rounded mechanic who can maintain and repair a diverse fleet of construction equipment, trucks, pickups, trailers, and support vehicles. We are not looking solely for a diesel engine specialist—we need someone with broad mechanical skills who takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Pay

$25.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and company vehicles

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and brake system issues

• Repair construction equipment, dump trucks, pickups, trailers, and other fleet vehicles

• Troubleshoot equipment problems to minimize downtime

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

• Work with operations personnel to keep equipment job-ready

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining heavy equipment and fleet vehicles

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills

• Experience with hydraulics, electrical systems, and general equipment maintenance

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus

• Valid driver’s license required
