Position Overview
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for supervising and coordinating on-site construction activities, managing subcontractors and work crews, and maintaining project safety, quality, and schedules. This position requires a strong leader with hands-on experience in field management, project coordination, and construction best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of work crews, subcontractors, and vendors on the construction site.
- Ensure all work is performed according to plans, specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
- Inspect site conditions, materials, and equipment to verify compliance with quality and safety standards (OSHA).
- Operate and oversee use of power tools (saws, grinders, planers) and pneumatic tools (nailers, roofing guns).
- Safely operate construction equipment such as telehandlers, lifts, and skid steers.
- Conduct pre-construction and progress meetings with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Prepare daily work logs, safety checklists, and weekly progress reports.
- Develop and manage project schedules, sequencing plans, and site utilization layouts.
- Support the Project Manager in cost tracking, change order reviews, and progress documentation.
- Enforce site safety compliance, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Provide hands-on assistance in carpentry or general labor tasks when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, or Construction Site Supervisor.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and scheduling tools.
- Proficiency in OSHA safety regulations and quality control procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and crews simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, project scheduling software, or Procore (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs regularly.
- Frequent standing, climbing, bending, and working at heights.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, loud environments, and outdoor conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,302.25 - $115,000.00 per year
