We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager – Plant Operations to lead plant-wide quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products consistently meet customer, industry, and regulatory standards while building a strong culture of quality excellence across the plant.
This is a hands-on leadership position that works closely with Production, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to drive sustainable quality improvements, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing performance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and lead the plant quality strategy, aligned with business objectives and customer expectations
- Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ASHRAE, and applicable regulations
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework using data-driven methodologies
- Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement programs to eliminate recurring quality issues
- Implement and sustain advanced quality tools including SPC, FMEA, DOE, and statistical analysis
- Partner with Engineering and Production to support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and ensure New Product Introduction (NPI) meets quality requirements
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Engineers and Technicians
- Manage supplier quality initiatives, including audits, corrective actions, and capability improvements
- Monitor and report key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and present actionable insights to plant leadership
- Promote a culture of quality ownership and accountability across all plant functions
- 8 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
- (HVAC, refrigeration, or industrial equipment experience preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ASHRAE standards, and regulatory compliance
- Proven experience leading quality teams or influencing cross-functional stakeholders
- Expertise in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and advanced quality methodologies
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes such as welding, brazing, assembly, and testing
- Strong problem-solving skills using 8D, FMEA, SPC, and DOE
- Proficiency with quality data analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, or equivalent
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels
