Residential HVAC Field Service Specialist

Airtron Heating & Cooling HVAC
Raleigh, NC Full Time
POSTED ON 9/12/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/10/2027

About the Role

Picture a typical day: you roll out in a well-stocked service vehicle, check your route with the office, and head to your first home visit. You greet the homeowner, slip on protective floor savers, and get to work—inspecting the system, diagnosing issues, and explaining what you’ll do to get comfort back on track. Throughout the day, you’ll repair and maintain residential heating and air equipment, perform start-ups and testing when needed, coordinate parts, document your work on a tablet, and wrap every visit with a clean workspace and a clear debrief to the customer and dispatch.

What You’ll Do

  • Service, maintain, and repair residential heating and air conditioning equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain ducting and company tools/materials to ensure they remain serviceable.
  • Identify, wire, and commission complete residential HVAC systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues, recommend solutions, and perform repairs to restore proper operation.
  • Perform start-ups, test system performance, and record results to verify proper functionality.
  • Conduct thorough system inspections and promptly communicate any concerns to dispatch/customers.
  • Explain completed services and repairs to dispatch/customers after each call.
  • Coordinate daily schedule with the office and prepare required parts for each appointment.
  • Transport parts, materials, and tools to job sites and account for assigned inventory.
  • Complete all required paperwork/tablet entries neatly and on time.
  • Debrief each service visit with dispatch/customers and attach all supporting documentation.
  • Leave the work area as clean as you found it—if not cleaner.
  • Keep the company vehicle organized and clean, inside and out.
  • Adhere to company performance standards, code of ethics, and all safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor with customers and teammates; wear protective floor savers in homes.

Work Setting

  • Primarily at occupied homes and active construction sites; minimal office time.
  • Drive to and from daily work locations.
