What are the responsibilities and job description for the HVAC & Refrigeration Service and Installation Technician position at AIRTECH MECHANICAL LLC?
We are a residential HVAC and refrigeration company based in Livonia, MI seeking an experienced HVAC & Refrigeration Technician to join our team. If you have 2–5 years of hands-on experience, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality work, we'd love to talk.
What You'll Do:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems
- Install complete HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and air handlers
- Service and install residential refrigeration equipment
- Perform refrigerant recovery, recharge, and leak detection
- Conduct preventative maintenance and seasonal tune-ups
- Communicate clearly with homeowners to explain issues and recommend solutions
- Complete accurate work orders and document parts used
What We're Looking For:
- 2–5 years of experience in HVAC and/or refrigeration service and installation
- EPA 608 Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across multiple equipment brands
- Solid understanding of refrigeration systems and refrigerant handling
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Self-motivated, dependable, and professional with strong customer service skills
- Able to work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor Michigan weather year-round
