Position Summary:
The EHS Coordinator is responsible for leading all Environmental, Health, and Safety efforts at the AIRSYS facility in Woodruff, SC. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, SCDES, and other applicable regulations while developing and maintaining policies that support a proactive safety culture. The Coordinator also manages environmental programs, employee safety training, and regulatory reporting to protect employee health and ensure operational compliance.
This position requires up to 10% travel to support two additional AIRSYS facilities located in Upstate South Carolina.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the site lead for all safety-related initiatives and compliance programs
- Maintain and manage the facility’s Air Permit, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), and Waste Management Plan
- Develop, implement, and regularly update EHS policies, procedures, and training materials
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Maintain records of incidents, safety meetings, environmental reports, and training
- Facilitate new hire safety orientation and coordinate ongoing employee training
- Collaborate with operations and HR teams to ensure alignment with EHS goals and regulations
- Provide EHS support for two additional sites in the Upstate region (approx. 10% travel)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field and 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or general industry setting
- OR 10 years of relevant EHS experience without a degree
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and SCDES regulations
- Experience managing environmental permits, including Air Permits, SWPPP, and hazardous waste plans
- Proven ability to develop and deliver safety training
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- OSHA 501 General Industry Outreach Trainer
- Arc Flash / NFPA 70E Trainer
- Forklift Train-the-Trainer certification
- Prior experience teaching or training in safety or compliance topics
Salary : $70,000 - $100,000
