What are the responsibilities and job description for the LOSS PREVENTION LEAD position at Airport Home Appliance?
Job Title: Loss Prevention Lead
Location: Airport Home Appliance PDC
Department: Operations / Asset Protection
Pay: $22–$28
Reports To: Inventory Manager / Operations Manager
Position Summary:
The Loss Prevention Lead plays a key role in protecting company assets by identifying, investigating, and resolving causes of inventory shrink, theft, and policy violations. Unlike a traditional security guard role, this position focuses on data-driven investigations, operational audits, and shrink prevention strategy. The LP Lead partners closely with Operations, Inventory, and HR leadership to build cases, tighten controls, and drive a culture of accountability and compliance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigations & Case Management: Lead and document investigations involving theft, fraud, inventory loss, and policy violations. Build strong cases supported by system data and camera evidence.
- Shrink Analysis: Leverage Netsuite ERP and DispatchTrack data to track transactions, identify patterns, and pinpoint root causes of shrink.
- Operational Audits: Conduct routine inventory and compliance audits to detect gaps and recommend process improvements.
- Surveillance Review: Utilize camera systems as a tool to support investigations—not as a primary duty.
- Incident Documentation: Maintain detailed reports and evidence logs to support internal actions and potential law enforcement involvement.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Inventory, Shipping, and Store Managers to resolve discrepancies and close shrink loops.
- Training & Prevention: Coach team members on LP policy, safety protocols, and inventory control practices.
- Safety Oversight: Support OSHA and company safety compliance through regular walkthroughs and reporting.
- Law Enforcement Liaison: Represent the company in external investigations or theft recovery efforts.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of Loss Prevention, Asset Protection, or Inventory Control experience (retail or warehouse).
- Strong investigative and analytical skills, including use of ERP and surveillance data.
- Experience conducting interviews, building cases, and working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in camera review systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including weekends.
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in both retail and warehouse settings.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
Why This Role Matters:
This is not a guard post — it’s a frontline investigative and operational position focused on reducing shrink and protecting company assets. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in problem-solving, data analysis, and operational controls, not just patrols or surveillance.
