Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Air Conditioning Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess experience in HVAC systems, refrigeration, and mechanical maintenance, with a strong background in construction and property maintenance. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and installing air conditioning units and related equipment across various commercial and residential settings. A valid driver’s license is required to facilitate field service operations. The technician will utilize schematics, HVAC design principles, and mechanical knowledge to ensure optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, boilers, and other HVAC equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues.
- Perform equipment repairs using appropriate tools such as ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools.
- Conduct plumbing work related to HVAC systems including refrigerant lines and water supply connections.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks involving HVAC/R systems and appliance repair as needed.
- Utilize field service skills to perform on-site repairs at commercial or residential properties.
- Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs performed, and parts used for each job.
- Follow safety protocols related to ammonia refrigeration, welding, boiler operation, and electrical work.
- Support ongoing maintenance projects including equipment upgrades and system replacements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician or in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, and boiler operations.
- Ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair, welding, and appliance servicing.
- Field service experience working directly on-site with various types of HVAC/R equipment.
- Familiarity with construction practices relevant to HVAC installation projects.
- Proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic/mechanical devices.
- Valid
driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred. - Additional skills such as property maintenance experience or mechanic expertise are advantageous.
