Job Description

Aire Restaurant & Catering is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to support daily restaurant and catering operations. This role involves welcoming customers, taking food orders, processing payments, answering basic menu questions, and maintaining an organized checkout area. The ideal candidate is attentive, professional, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food-service environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take customer orders accurately and confirm order details.
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other approved payments.
• Answer basic questions about menu items, pricing, and available options.
• Communicate orders and special requests clearly with kitchen staff.
• Provide receipts and assist with routine checkout requests.
• Help organize completed orders for pickup, takeout, and catering service.
• Keep the register, counter, and customer-facing areas clean and organized.
• Restock bags, containers, napkins, utensils, and other service supplies.
• Assist with preparing and organizing catering orders when needed.
• Communicate order changes or customer concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Follow cash-handling, food-safety, sanitation, and workplace procedures.
• Support opening, closing, and other daily service responsibilities.
• Work cooperatively with restaurant and catering team members during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, restaurant, catering, café, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful.
• Friendly, respectful, and professional approach to customers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Comfortable learning and using POS systems.
• Good attention to detail and transaction accuracy.
• Able to stay organized while handling multiple orders.
• Willingness to learn menu items and restaurant procedures.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
