APS is a globally leading provider of aircraft propeller system maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) services to the regional, commercial, military and general aviation markets. Headquartered in Lake Zurich, Illinois and founded over 70 years ago, it has built an excellent reputation for technical capability, quality of work and customer responsiveness. Primary services include: MRO of aircraft propeller systems, selling of new and reconditioned OEM propeller system parts, airframe parts sales, parts manufacturing and customer training services.
Position Objective:
Lead the Human Resources Department to strategically align the workforce with business goals. Focus on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent, designing effective company policies, managing HR operations/systems, and ensuring compliance with labor laws to foster a productive workplace.

Pay Range:
$85,000 to $95,000
Essential Functions:
· Serve as the Human Resources subject matter expert.
· Possess a high level of integrity and ethical behavior.
· Possess a good understanding of how to securely store confidential information.
· Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
· Understand the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, retention and company policies.
· Take ownership of the Employee Resource Guide and company policies.
· Take ownership of the compensation plan and file.
· Coach employees, managers and senior leadership on HR related issues.
· Provide appropriate corrective measures and actions as needed.
· Prepare headcount, overtime, payroll projections, and other reports and presentations for senior leadership and Board members.
· Manage the Company’s FAA drug and alcohol program by serving as the Designated Employee Representative (DER).
· Set up, implement, and the manage all facets of the annual insurance renewal.
· Setup Open Enrollment in ADP Workforce Now.
· Perform all functions pertaining to the Company’s 401k plan.
· Take ownership of the annual Performance Review process.
· Take ownership of Employee Satisfaction Surveys.
· Process and monitor all FMLA, LOA, and disability claims.
· Manage the Company FSA and HSA vendor and employee plans.
· Manage the COBRA plan and vendor.
· Manage all immigration activities.
· Process and monitor Workers Compensation claims and incidents.
· Review and verify year end payroll forms, including W-2’s and 1095’s.
· Complete annual EEOC report.
· Complete OSHA 300 form.
· Update employee presentations, handouts, and forms with relative information.
· Serve as a backup for the HR Generalist, including ADP Workforce Now payroll processing and other related duties.
· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
· Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
PHR or SHRM certification highly preferred
Experience: 10 years of experience in related fields in a leadership role
A proven track record of successful project management and team leadership
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in managing and a strong grasp of HR procedures.
Knowledge of statutory and regulatory issues in HR.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively.
High integrity and an unyielding commitment to doing what’s right.
A trusted team player who can work efficiently and effectively with operating management and staff; able to challenge effectively while still collaborating.
Ability to interact with all levels of management and across all functions, and to develop effective working relationships with shop management.

Working and Physical Conditions:
Must be able to adapt to stressful situations and complete projects under tight deadlines. Availability to work occasional overtime and weekends to meet business demands. Work environment is a combination of office and plant with machinery noise.

Proactively identifies problems and makes necessary corrections and adjustments.
Routinely prepares accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of actions taken.
Consistently supports and works with employees, superiors, and peers to establish and maintain the reputation of Aircraft Propeller Service.
Stays current on the content, policies and procedures of the APS.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
