Job Description:
TITLE: Floor Coverings Engineer
EMPLOYER: Airbus Americas, Inc.
LOCATION: Mobile, AL
DUTIES: Develop new products and innovation for aircraft floor coverings. Provide technical and project oversight for Airbus suppliers to ensure delivery of integrated engineering solutions meeting technical, weight, program, and schedule and cost targets. Generate Technical Documentation including Management Material & Technical Specifications, Standard Documents, Process Instructions, Engineering Baseline Descriptions, and Technical Notes/Memos. Guide and perform Verification and Validation (V&V),
qualification and certification activities including release of the Declaration of Design Performance (DDP). Provide engineering support for production and manufacturing at Supplier's manufacturing facility and resolve any engineering discrepancies during installation at the Final Assembly Line (FAL). Provide engineering support for end user customers' in-service difficulties. Represent engineering in a Multi-Functional Team that meets to identify relevant and recurring engineering risks and opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 5 years in any job title including experience in Aircraft Certification and Airworthiness. Prior experience must also include: Experience driving and developing processes and meeting project objectives of Safety, Schedule, and Quality; Experience with internal and external customers and vendors; Experience with program and project management;
Experience in commercial aircraft floor covering manufacturing and installation; and Experience in aircraft cabin engineering process, methods, and tools. Up to 15% domestic and international travel required for business meetings and training. Up to 40% telework permitted.
