Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sewing Machine Operator to join our awning and canvas production team. This role is responsible for fabricating high-quality awnings, covers, and custom canvas products using industrial sewing equipment and specialty tools.
This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands and takes pride in craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate industrial sewing machines (including zig-zag, and binding machines)
- Cut, measure, and assemble fabric materials based on work orders and drawings
- Use tools such as hot knives, grommet machines, and layout tables
- Read and interpret production sheets, sketches, and specifications
- Maintain accuracy and quality standards on all finished products
- Inspect materials and completed items for defects
- Collaborate with production team to meet deadlines
- Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
Qualifications
- Experience with industrial sewing machines
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to read a tape measure and follow instructions
- Comfortable working with hands and standing for extended periods
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Experience in awning, upholstery, marine canvas, or fabrication work is a plus
At least two years sewing experience and high school diploma required.
Weekly pay with an increase after 90 days plus quarterly bonus structure.
