Sewing Machine Operator III- ASH
Reports to: Sr. Sewing Supervisor
Supervises: N/A
Summary Statement: The person in this position operates various machines used in industrial sewing following established work and safety procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Check all safety devices, assuring they are in place and in working order prior to operating the machine.
- Prior to sewing, inspect and repair any operations incorrectly done, including unacceptable stiches on materials provided to you.
- Thread machine and change bobbin as needed.
- Retrieve/distribute materials as needed.
- Operate various automatic machines which may include:
- Single needle operations
- Double needle operations
- Two-step automatic machines
- Bartack operations
- Serger operations
Non-Essential Job Functions
- Attend training and meetings as scheduled.
- Perform other duties as apparent or assigned.
Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Must be able to follow verbal instructions.
- Must have the dexterity to operate various industrial sewing machines.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
- Must consistently meet production and quality standards of a Level III operator.
- Must consistently exceed production and quality standards of a Level II operator.
Education and Work Experience
- Prior experience operating single and double needle machines
- Consistently meet production and quality standards of a Level II operator.
