The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for full time IT Cybersecurity Specialist (CUSTSPT/SYSADMIN), GG-2210-13 to work in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at JBSA in San Antonio-Lackland, TX.
Base Salary Range: $132,751 to $181,428

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for; you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. (NOTE: Typically, the 1-year probationary period is for Competitive Jobs, and 2-year trail period is for Excepted Jobs.)
This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V3007.

Qualifications/Requirements
In this position the Cybersecurity Specialist for the Joint Cyber Command and Control (JCC2) Program Office provides technical guidance on cyber policies, analyzing and mitigating cyber risks, developing security architecture, performing vulnerability assessments, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data. In this role as a cybersecurity specialist, you will be responsible for protecting DoD information systems from threats through a range of duties that can include policy interpretation, risk management framework (RMF), and implementing security controls, while maximizing operational availability and supporting frequent capability releases and upgrades across all mission applications for cyberspace systems. Additionally, the position provides advanced knowledge and skill in the development, use and sustainment of IT systems and is considered an advanced IT user.

This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required level of Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification within 9 months of assigned duties.
Must obtain and maintain the required Information Assurance Certification within six months of assignment of these duties.
Knowledge of IT systems analysis and applications software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods and principles, including the effective management of software approval requests and familiarity with Capture the Flag (CTF) exercises to enhance software security awareness and skills.
Knowledge in implementing and executing incident response procedures and processes, including incident identification, containment, eradication, and recovery and operational activities (such as special operations, personnel recovery, airlift, etc...), weapon systems, command, control, and mission process, systems, and applications.
Experience in overseeing multiple development, testing, and production environments (e.g., AWS Gov Cloud Dev, NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS) and meticulously managing security-relevant changes, including conducting thorough security impact analyses, processing connection requests, and managing Interconnection Service Agreements (ISAs).
Advanced technical experience in processing Domain Name System (DNS) requests and ensuring the integrity and availability of DNS services.
Knowledge of IT management information systems and applications software technology to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system, and applications software programs and to measure system performance evaluate risk, and/or extend weapon system capabilities to support organizational business processes and operations.
Knowledge of IT management information systems requirements and application software development techniques required in carrying out project assignments. Ability to effectively manage assigned tasks, accurately track progress, update project performance systems (e.g., PPS), and actively participate in Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
