The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for SIX, full time Information Technology (IT) Cybersecurity Specialists, Security Operations Center Tier 3 Analysts (GS-2210-12), working under NORAD/USNORTHCOM (N&NC) at Headquarters Joint Task Force (JTF) – Gold, Cyber Warfare Center (CWC), Peterson Space Force Base (SFB), Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Salary ($91,870 - $119,434) based on experience
Retention Incentive up to 15% based on experience
Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

In this position you will serve as a senior watch officer and subject matter expert responsible for executing and overseeing 24/7 defensive cyberspace operations in support of JTF Gold’s mission to protect and defend the Golden Dome for America (GDA) networks and systems.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain & maintain a “Top Secret/SCI” Security clearance.
This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position.
Must obtain & maintain an Information Assurance Level II certification(s) (e.g., Sec , CySA , GCIH) within 6 months of assigned duties.
This is a JTF-Gold Battle Staff position and may require to work any shift within a 24-hour period and 2-Hour recall.
The incumbent must achieve foundational qualifications within 9 months of assigned duties and resident qualification within 12 months. Additionally, maintain a minimum of 20 hours annually of Continuous Professional Development or education activities to enhance competence.

- Expert knowledge of data architecture, computer language structure and logic, scripting, and query languages, including compiled languages.
- Expert knowledge of information theory and algorithm complexity, including source coding, channel coding, data compression, and related concepts.
- Expert knowledge of architecture and design, including cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures, data platforms, technology stacks, and infrastructure such as transport, networking concepts, protocols, and endpoints.
- Expert knowledge of Department of Defense Cyberspace operations capabilities, including Defensive Cyberspace Operations tools and techniques, and relevant laws, policies, regulations, and guidance documentation.
- Ability to apply network security architecture concepts, including defense-in-depth, topology, protocols, components, and principles.
- Ability to detect host and network-based intrusions using intrusion detection technologies, perform packet-level analysis, and tune sensors and protocol analyzers.
- Skill in designing and integrating technology processes and solutions, including legacy systems and modern programming languages, and translating operational requirements into security controls.
- Ability to collect, review, and analyze data from a variety of cyber defense resources and logs to identify evidence of past intrusions and inform defensive strategies.
- DoD Approved Level II Certifications - Execute Advanced Incident Response - Advanced Incident Response and Digital Forensics (DFIR) - Vulnerability Assessment & Mitigation You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
