The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for Aircraft Avionics Technicians (WG-2610-12) to join the “A-team” at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma! In this role, you will troubleshoot, modify, repair, and perform final functional and operational tests of avionics systems, components, radios, and accessories on KC-135, C-17, or KC-46 aircraft.

Hourly Wage Range: $36.58 - $42.67
*** This position also includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates!***

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
• US Citizenship is required.
• This is a drug testing position. The employee is subject to random drug testing.
• Requires an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license (OR) associated military experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
• Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, crawl, and stand for prolonged periods on concrete or metal surfaces.
• Frequently lifts parts and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally may lift and carry items that way about 50 pounds with mechanical lifting devices or with assistance from other workers.
• Shift work may be required and emergency overtime may be required (on a very rare basis).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
• Installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds, aligns, and calibrates integrated ground or airborne electronics systems such as fire control, ballistic missile control, missile guidance, air traffic control, automatic test equipment, dead reckoning navigation or bombing-navigation systems.
• Maintains aircraft electrical systems, instruments, automatic flight controls, inertial and standard navigation, and communication systems.
• Maintains radio equipment to include high frequency (HF), very high frequency (VHF), and ultra-high frequency (UHF) radios, secure voice auxiliary components, transponders and radar systems.
• Maintains enhanced station keeping equipment (ESKE), tactical airborne navigation (TACAN), Automatic direction finding (ADF), auto pilot, stability augmentation, all weather landing systems (AWLS), and fuel savings advisory systems (FSAS).
• Assists with launch, recovery, servicing, and ground-handling of aircraft.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's)
• Skill in the set up and operation of computer controlled automated test equipment (ATE) and test stands, oscilloscopes (dual trace, storage, digitized), spectrum, network and distortion analyzers, frequency counters, and signal generators.
• Skill in interpreting complex drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete integrated systems to recognize the function and interconnections of components, assemblies, subassemblies, and connecting cable harness
• Skill in troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining electronic integrated systems where circuit theory must be used to understand the operation of a large number of circuits and functions, and the interaction of subsystems which create malfunctions.
