Service Technician

Position Summary 

The Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing air compressor systems at client locations. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. The technician plays a key role in ensuring equipment performance, minimizing downtime, and enhancing customer satisfaction through expert-level service and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair issues with air compressor systems at customer sites.
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance, including filter changes, lubrication, and inspections.
• Install and configure new systems to meet manufacturer and client specifications.
• Respond to emergency repair requests promptly and efficiently.
• Communicate clearly with clients to assess issues, explain repairs, and provide system recommendations.
• Address customer concerns and ensure complete satisfaction through professional service and follow-up.
• Complete accurate service reports detailing diagnostics, repairs, parts used, and time spent.
• Maintain records of service history and work performed for reference and compliance.
• Manage tools and part inventory required for service work.
• Ensure all service vehicles and tools are properly stocked and maintained.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and maintenance practices.
• Support project execution by anticipating needs and collaborating with clients and internal teams.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency service needs.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or field service roles.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with mechanical systems.
• Basic knowledge of air compressors, pneumatics, or industrial equipment (or willingness to learn).
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in varying environmental conditions.
• Proficient with hand and power tools; must supply own basic hand tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable with travel and overnight stays as required.

Preferred:

• Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or electrical systems.
• Experience with air compressor systems or industrial maintenance.
• Familiarity with safety and OSHA standards.
• Experience using service management software (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite).
