A well-established regional law firm with a strong defense litigation practice is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support its Casualty and Mass Tort Practice Group in Houston. The firm represents corporate clients, insurers, and industrial companies in complex, high-exposure litigation matters.
This is a fully in-office role offering hands-on involvement across all stages of litigation within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The firm is seeking a detail-oriented paralegal with 3 years of litigation experience and a strong understanding of the full case lifecycle. The ideal candidate will support attorneys from initial case intake through discovery, trial, and final resolution, while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist attorneys through all phases of litigation, including case inception, discovery, trial preparation, and case closurePrepare, file, and organize court documents and exhibits
- Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories and document production
- Coordinate and manage electronic discovery processes
- Support depositions, hearings, and mediations, including preparation and logistics
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts and medical records
- Maintain case calendars, dockets, and deadlines
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and third parties
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience in litigation
- Strong knowledge of the full litigation lifecycle
- Experience with discovery, e-discovery, and trial preparation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Proactive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate needs and maintain confidentiality
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred; Paralegal certificate strongly preferred
