POSITION OVERVIEW
The associate will handle a broad range of civil litigation matters with a focus on offshore energy and maritime disputes. The role includes significant responsibility managing cases from inception through resolution, while collaborating with partners on strategy, client development, and case execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently manage a full litigation caseload from intake through resolution
- Handle court appearances, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation
- Advise clients on maritime, offshore energy, and related regulatory matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
- Provide regular client updates and maintain strong client relationships
- Analyze legal and factual issues across complex civil litigation matters, including personal injury, property damage, and environmental claims
- Collaborate with internal teams on case strategy and execution
QUALIFICATIONS
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active bar admission in Texas (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 4 years of litigation experience
- Prior experience in offshore, maritime, or energy-related litigation strongly preferred
- Experience handling depositions, hearings, and motion practice
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage cases and work in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and build relationships
