A well-established regional law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its Offshore Energy and Maritime Litigation practice in Houston. The firm represents companies across the energy, maritime, and industrial sectors in complex, high-stakes litigation.
This opportunity is available as either a partnership-track associate role or a reduced-hours staff attorney position, offering flexibility depending on career goals and work preferences.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The firm is seeking an attorney with 4 years of litigation experience, with a preference for candidates who have exposure to offshore, maritime, or energy-related matters. The role involves handling a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters, including maritime disputes, environmental issues, and personal injury claims.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing cases independently while also working collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Handle court appearances, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Lead client communications and provide strategic updates
- Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal filings
- Advise clients on legal issues related to maritime operations, energy matters, and regulatory compliance
- Handle disputes involving maritime law, personal injury, property damage, insurance, and environmental matters
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 4 years of litigation experience
- Experience in maritime, offshore energy, or related litigation strongly preferred
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage cases and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar
