Job Overview
We are seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented Operations Specialist to support our growing fleet risk management services. This role combines customer interaction, data management, event analysis, and hands-on technical support.
The Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in onboarding new fleet customers, ensuring accuracy of operational data and maintaining the seamless operation of connected dash camera technology. This position reports directly to the Sr.
Manager, Operations & Risk Management.
Essential Functions
Fleet Onboarding & Customer Support
- Act as the primary point of contact during new fleet onboarding.
- Coordinate agreements, scheduling, and camera installations.
- Provide guided walkthroughs of the customer portal, ensuring customers understand key system functions.
- Deliver technical assistance and hands-on support to customers during setup.
- Build strong relationships by addressing customer questions clearly and promptly.
Data Entry & Accuracy
- Enter and maintain order and account information in internal systems.
- Track fleet camera deployment and operational status.
- Manage fleet data to ensure account accuracy and integrity.
- Update Jira and other internal tools to reflect order, ticket, and operational status.
Event Analysis
- Review and analyze potential collision events and reported incidents.
- Validate and correct false positives in event data.
- Monitor “bad trip” data and escalate anomalies as needed.
Physical & Technical Support
- Perform on-site dash camera installations as needed.
- Maintain and organize storage areas, camera inventory, and related equipment.
- Assist with physical device management, troubleshooting, and organization.
New Equipment Testing & QA
- Test and evaluate new camera hardware and software features.
- Conduct routing tests, performance checks, and system analysis.
- Support upkeep and testing of in-house fleet vehicle(s).
Duties may evolve based on business needs, and additional tasks may be assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required in a technical field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in direct customer technical support, fleet operation, or related operations roles.
Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and apply new systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); comfort with data entry and report generation.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain processes and technical concepts to customers.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Jira or other ticketing/project tracking tools.
Experience supporting onboarding or technical implementations.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and workflows.
Experience with automotive telematics or connected car technology.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence technical design decisions.
Strong interpersonal skills for building effective internal and external relationships.
Office Location
- Torrance, CA - Hybrid (Tuesday and Thursday in office)
Compensation
- For California based hires, the annual salary range is $70,000 - $82,000 depending on experience.
- FLSA Job Status is non-exempt
