The Litigation Paralegal provides essential support to attorneys throughout all phases of civil litigation. Key responsibilities include:
- Case Management: Organize, maintain, and update case files; track deadlines, discovery schedules, and court dates.
- Client Support: Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates (under attorney supervision), and assist with document collection.
- Document Preparation: Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other litigation documents.
- Records & Evidence: Collect and organize records, evidence, and other materials needed for case preparation.
- Filing & Service: File documents with state and federal courts; coordinate service of process and ensure compliance with court rules.
- Discovery & Trial Prep: Assist with deposition preparation, exhibit organization, trial binders, witness lists, and other trial-related materials.
- Coordination: Communicate with opposing counsel, court staff, experts, and vendors as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience in civil litigation required
- Experience or familiarity with employment law is a plus
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, and discovery processes
