This role supervises maintenance staff, the cleaning staff, ensures water quality meets health department standards, completes monthly preventative maintenance and repairs to deliver a safe, clean, and enjoyable guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Pool & Water Systems Management as defined below but not limited too
- Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and repair of pools, splash pads, lazy rivers, wave pools, and water attractions
- Ensure proper chemical balance, filtration, circulation, and sanitation of all aquatic systems
- Conduct and document routine water testing in compliance with local and state health regulations
- Monitor and maintain pumps, filters, heaters, chlorinators, and automated chemical systems
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
- Prepare for and support health department inspections and audits
- Enforce water park safety policies and emergency procedures
- Coordinate with lifeguard and operations teams to address and resolve safety concerns promptly
- Ensure chemical storage room & mechanical space is always organized and clean
- Supervise, train, and schedule pool maintenance technicians
- Provide ongoing training on equipment operation, chemical handling, and safety protocols
- Evaluate employee performance and support professional development
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
- Diagnose and repair kitchen equipment issues
- Diagnose and repair heating and cooling system issues
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or upgrades
- Maintain inventory of chemicals, tools, and replacement parts
- Maintain chemical equipment monthly by following manufactures recommendations
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, water quality records, and incident reports
- Track equipment performance and maintenance costs
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and capital improvement planning
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3–5 years of pool maintenance or aquatic facility experience
- Prior supervisory or lead technician experience
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO), or equivalent certification
- Strong knowledge of pool chemistry, filtration systems, and water safety standards
- Experience in a water park, resort, or large aquatic facility
- Knowledge of local and state health department regulations
- Mechanical, electrical, kitchen equipment, and HVAC background
- Painting skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
- On-call availability for emergencies, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Outdoor and indoor aquatic facilities
