Job Overview
AIM Supports is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Community Living Supports (CLS) team. DSPs play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and meaningful participation in daily life. The ideal candidate is caring, dependable, and committed to helping people live with dignity and independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Support individuals in community integration through social activities, appointments, and outings.
- Implement individualized support plans while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA.
- Complete daily shift notes documenting services provided, progress, and goals.
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills, including light housekeeping tasks, by modeling and encouraging participation.
- Encourage independence by engaging individuals in meaningful, skill-building activities.
- Monitor and report changes in physical, emotional, or behavioral conditions to supervisors.
Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
- Must pass ODDS required background check.
- Ability to follow support plans and work as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients, families, and coworkers.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and current auto insurance (must be maintained).
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (training provided by AIM if needed).
