Fence Installer/Laborer

JOB TITLE: Fence Installer

PAY: $22 - $25 depending on experience.

DAYS/HOURS: Monday through Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm

DURATION: Year round

REPORTS TO: Installation Laborer

Position Overview

The Fence Installer is responsible for installing residential and commercial fencing with a high level of quality, speed, and professionalism. Installers work outdoors year-round, handling materials such as wood, vinyl, aluminum, and chain link. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically strong, comfortable with power tools, and able to work as part of a team to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

· Working on a team with one or two other workers and lead by a foreman.

· Install wood, vinyl, aluminum, and chain link fencing according to Armstrong Fence standards

· Load and unload trucks with required materials at the start and end of each day

· Dig post holes manually or with power augers

· Set posts, mix concrete, and ensure accurate alignment and spacing

· Cut and assemble fence sections on site as needed

· Troubleshoot installation issues such as grade changes, roots, utilities, or tight property lines

· Maintain jobsite cleanliness and customer communication while on-site

· Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or equipment issues

· Assist Crew Leader with measurements, layout, and project planning

· Represent Armstrong Fence professionally with homeowners and contractors

Required Qualifications

· Experience in construction, landscaping, carpentry, or fence installation preferred, but willing to train the right person

· Ability to measure accurately and use hand/power tools safely

· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (ability to drive company trucks)

· Reliable transportation to/from Bridgewater shop

· Ability to lift 80 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions

· Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn

Work Environment

· Outdoor work in all seasons (heat, cold, rain)

· Physical labor including digging, lifting, carrying, and bending

· Use of power tools, saws, nail guns, and cement mixers

· Work in residential neighborhoods, commercial lots, and construction sites

DRESS CODE: Casual, work boots and work gloves

WAREHOUSE (HOW MANY POUNDS): 50 lbs, however, the majority of the heavy lifting will be via Fork Truck
