Duties
- Measure and mark fence lines accurately to ensure proper placement and alignment.
- Prepare the construction site by clearing debris, setting up stakes, and establishing foundational points.
- Cut, assemble, and install fence panels, posts, gates, and related hardware using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials such as wood, metal posts, concrete blocks, and fencing panels safely and efficiently.
- Use framing carpentry techniques to ensure fences are level, secure, and visually appealing.
- Mix and pour concrete for post foundations when necessary; finish concrete surfaces smoothly.
- Weld or secure metal components as needed to reinforce fencing structures or gates.
- Conduct site inspections to verify proper installation standards are met; adjust as needed for safety and quality.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction or carpentry with a focus on fencing installation preferred.
- Skilled in frame carpentry techniques including measuring, cutting, fitting, and fastening materials.
- Familiarity with welding techniques for metal fence components is a plus.
- Comfortable using hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills, levels, and measuring tapes.
- Experience working on construction sites or outdoor projects involving landscape maintenance or hardscape features.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper posture and technique.
- Knowledge of concrete forming and finishing processes relevant to fence post foundations is advantageous.
