Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Housekeeper/Laundry Worker/Houseman to join our hospitality team. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, including dusting, vacuuming, floor care, and sanitation of bathrooms using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
- Handle laundry tasks efficiently, including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and delivering linens and guest clothing with care.
- Maintain cleanliness of public spaces such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other hotel areas by executing janitorial and industrial cleaning procedures.
- Utilize safety data sheets (SDS) to handle chemical agents safely and follow hotel emergency procedures in case of spills or accidents.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, and equipment while adhering to safety standards.
- Manage the use of cleaning equipment like vacuums, floor buffers, and mops to ensure optimal floor care and sanitation standards are met.
- Support hotel housekeeping management by maintaining inventory levels of cleaning supplies and reporting maintenance issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles with a strong understanding of sanitation standards.
- Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and the operation of cleaning equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while maintaining efficiency.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude toward guests and team members.
- Familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and safety data sheets (SDS) for chemical agents used in cleaning processes.
- Previous experience in industrial or janitorial cleaning environments is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
