We are a licensed Behavioral health clinic located in Riverhead, committed to delivering compassionate, client-centered mental health services to individuals and families. Our multidisciplinary team includes Clinical Therapists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (Psych NPs), and dedicated support staff, all working together to ensure clients feel safe, supported, and respected.
What We're Seeking
We are seeking a professional, empathetic, and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and passionate about supporting mental health services. Strong communication skills, the ability to multitask effectively, and a client-first mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients in a friendly and courteous manner
- Manage front desk operations including phones, voicemails, and scheduling using eClinicalWorks (eCW)
- Verify insurance eligibility, process co-pays, and handle patient payments
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
- Provide administrative support to Clinical Therapists and Psych NPs, including:
- Completing prior authorizations for behavioral health medications
- Assisting with medication refill requests
- Coordinating lab work orders and follow-ups
- Managing referrals and documentation
- Following up with clients for missed appointments, intake forms, and treatment updates
- Perform general office duties such as scanning, filing, faxing, processing mail, and ordering supplies
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical or behavioral health office setting
- Familiarity with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and lab coordination
- Experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) or similar EHR software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, especially with individuals experiencing mental health challenges
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) is a plus, but not required
