AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE) is looking for a Sr. Bridge Design Project Manager to join our Design teams based in Middletown, CT and New York, NY. This is an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, highly-organized civil design engineering professional with project management experience to manage design, reporting, production plans, and estimates on state and municipal projects. The ideal candidate should possess a “can-do” attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative consulting firm. Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, (MSCE preferred)
P.E. License in CT and NY (preferred)
Must have a minimum of 10 years of technical and project management experience in the design of transportation structures and facilities in the Northeast
Understanding of AASHTO, AREMA and other national and local structural design codes and standards
Significant experience in the design and management of bridge/structure projects for regional transportation clients
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain lasting relationships with key transportation clients and industry partners
Lead the preliminary and final design of bridge structures
Provide engineering design services on traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build bridge projects
Play a key role in the growth of AI’s local bridge/structural team and establishment of a robust bridge/structures design practice
Identify new project opportunities and lead the development of technical proposals
Manage a team of structural engineers and serve as a mentor to the early career professionals
Provide QA of projects through understanding of the project goals and the client’s expectation

Skills & Abilities
- A self-starter with the ability to form project teams and manage multiple and concurrent projects/assignments
- Strong technical and project management skills with ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex bridge/structures design projects clients in Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region
- Solid background in every facet of bridge projects from condition inspection to concept development, preliminary and final design phases and construction support services
- Must be proficient and have experience in structural analysis and modeling as well as development of final drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Understanding the variety of project delivery methods and direct experience in Design-Build projects
- Ability and willingness to travel to work sites.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, negotiations and decision-making skills.
- Occasional to moderate travel may be required.
