Electrical Engineer

AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE) is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Mechanical/Electrical Design team based in Middletown, CT. Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (preferred)
• E.I.T. or P.E. License, or ability to obtain (preferred)
• 3 years of technical experience in the industry, specifically focused on electrical design
• If no degree, 5 years of work experience in consulting engineering industry
• Knowledge of Codes and standards used for Electrical design (NFPA 70, NFPA 72, Building Code, IECC, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Design of normal and emergency power distribution, lighting, lighting control systems, and fire alarm systems.
• Draft layout and design of electrical systems, with minimal supervision
• Apply understanding and knowledge of Codes and Standards used for Electrical design (NFPA 70, NFPA 72, Building Code, IECC, etc.)
• Perform electrical engineering calculations (voltage drop, short circuit, electrical loads, etc.)
• Design electrical systems from concept to completion.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, REVIT and MicroStation experience is a plus.
• Independently perform site visits as needed

• A self-starter with the ability to support project teams and work on multiple and concurrent projects/assignments
• Strong technical skills with the ability to support multi-disciplinary teams
• Must be proficient and have experience in electrical design and analysis as well as development of final drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
• Understanding the project delivery methods
• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Occasional to moderate travel may be required.
