AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE) is looking for an experienced Office Engineer to join our team, supporting Connecticut projects throughout the state, but focused in southern CT. This is an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, highly-organized Office Engineer to join our experienced team of engineers and designers. The ideal candidate should possess a “can-do” attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative consulting firm. Requirements/Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in construction inspection for civil, highway, or related engineering and survey field
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; or related field
- NICET certification preferred
- Previous CTDOT or NYSDOT experience; Railroad/MNR project experience, preferred
- Experience with COMPASS, AAASHTOWare, Project BI or similar, preferred
- Experience as an Office Engineer on mid-size to large projects, preferred
- Ability to work statewide and travel to work sites
Responsibilities:
- Perform the duties of an Office Engineer on large or mid-size project with overall project record-keeping.
- Set up and maintain computations and other records.
- Prepare and process change orders.
- Process Payment Estimates.
- Analyze submitted prices and estimate prices for new contract items.
- Assist the Resident Engineer/Chief Inspector in administrative functions.
- Maintain as-built drawings.
- Close-out projects.
- Maintain field records
Skills & Abilities:
- A self-starter with the ability to work with project teams and manage multiple and concurrent projects/assignments
- Strong administrative skills with ability to manage tasks on AEC projects
- Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Considerable knowledge of construction materials, methods, and procedures, particularly state DOT projects.

Salary : $115,000 - $160,000
