Field Service Technician
Ai Cook (Instachef) is an innovative food technology company changing the way people experience food. We are seeking a Field Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of food vending machines at customer sites across Southern California.
Job Summary
The Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, and troubleshooting food vending machines and related equipment to ensure reliable operation and customer satisfaction. This role offers hands-on training and growth opportunities within a fast-growing company.
Service Area: Orange County, Long Beach, Los Angeles and other areas in Southern California.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair equipment at customer locations across Orange County, Long Beach and Los Angeles.
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting to ensure equipment reliability
- Install, service, maintain, and repair equipment at operating sites across Orange County, Long Beach, and Los Angeles
- Respond to equipment issues on-site or remotely and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Document daily service activities, issues, and resolutions
- Support equipment upgrades, retrofits, and technical improvements in coordination with the R&D team
- Manage inventory for spare parts, tools, and service materials
- Work closely with operations and service teams to support daily equipment operations
- Provide emergency technical support when necessary, including on-site repairs or remote assistance
- This position is a safety sensitive position.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or military experience preferred.
- Associate degree or technical background in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, or related fields, is a plus.
- 2 year of field service, equipment maintenance, or technical support experience preferred
- Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read basic schematics and follow procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Strong work ethic, safety awareness, and customer-service mindset
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
- Mandarin/Chinese is preferred.
- Physical Demands: Drive, climb, lift, carry, push, tighten, loosen, drill, saw, crawl, bend, wrench, shovel, etc.
Work Schedule
- Typical hours: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM , hours may vary based on business needs
- Occasional emergency or overtime support required
The starting hourly rate for this position is $25.00 per hour with final compensation determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skills. This position is eligible for advancement based on performance and demonstrated competency.
