Accounting, Bookkeeping, Income Tax Preparation Office, Studio City, California.
We are a well-established full service bookkeeping and income tax preparation firm (since 1980), looking to fill a vacancy in our team: a full-charge bookkeeper, a motivated and detail oriented person with good organizational skills, able to take over the duties of the previous bookkeeper to continue the bookkeeping for the various clients from start to finish. Including but not limited to producing all necessary reports and schedules following the examples left by previous bookkeeper.

Primary Job Functions
- Interact with clients, request, and receive necessary paperwork and documents -business and personal.
- Correctly establish income with appropriate recaps/reconciliations in Microsoft Excel.
- Accurately record and reconcile cash, check or credit card transactions to statements matched with receipts.
- Train clients on QuickBooks Desktop and Online upon request.
- Produce reports, recaps, General Ledgers, and financial statements.
- Perform analysis to ensure accuracy of produced recaps, reports, and schedules.
- Reconcile and report differences or issues found in financial records.
- Prepare, distribute, and file annual filings, ie: 1099s/1096
- Work with the tax accountant to ensure a clean and timely year-end income tax filing.
- Work additional or flexible hours when needed and/or during deadlines.
- Diligent retention of (physical and digital) copies of source documents required in bookkeeping accounting practices.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality to safeguard confidential, sensitive information.
- Perform other related duties as needed.
- Answer telephone calls and emails from customers and clients when needed.
- Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator, xerox machine, facsimile, and scanner.
Required Skills, Experience and Education
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid identification required.
- Job offered contingent on background check.
- Strong interpersonal skills working well with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- At ease writing journal entries with full comprehension of accounting systems.
- Organized but flexible, able to prioritize, manage time and meet deadlines.
- Familiar with document retention and required tax office document protocols.
- Strong computer skills in Windows PC.
- Advanced spreadsheet proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Competency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
- Experience working in an accounting firm or having your own set of books or formal education.
- Minimum of 3 plus years of bookkeeping experience.
- Proficient in using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
- Maintained approved chart of accounts.
- Able to analyze financial statements.

Salary and Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is between $26 and $40 an hour and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, training, education, business needs and market demands and location.
