Appliance Delivery and Installation Driver and Helper

A Delivery Driver drives a 26ft delivery box truck and with the assistance of a Driver Helper is responsible for in-home delivery and set up of appliances.
We are looking for Drivers who are energetic, personable, and safe. We provide the truck, but you should have a clean driving record and driver's license.

About the Role
This is a 1099 contract position for a contracted driver on an appliance delivery and appliance installation team (washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators, etc.) We do not install over the range microwaves or dishwashers. Experience with appliance installation is required. Driver must have a clean driving record and both must be able to pass a background check.
Please consider the following before you apply:

• Experience with appliance installation is REQUIRED
• Experience in Customer Service is REQUIRED
• Teams arrive promptly at 6:00 am.
• Teams load the truck promptly from 6:15 am-6:45 am.
• Shifts are typically 10 hrs. but extended hours may be necessary
• Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.

• Driver Responsibilities
• Use route navigation apps and knowledge of the area to deliver appliance(s) to the customer location on time
• Interact with stakeholders in a professional manner
• Complete daily maintenance checks on delivery trucks and notify the manager of any issues
• Drive in inclement weather, such as light snow
• Maintain electronic logs to track routes and deliveries
• Loading products onto trucks for deliveries.
• Delivering and installing appliances in the customer’s home in a friendly, professional manner, including appliance removal when necessary.
• Providing excellent service during deliveries, set-up, and clean-up.
• Striving to maximize quality and efficiency scores to continuously improve customer satisfaction ratings.
• Loading and unloading products utilizing proper material handling techniques and equipment to minimize damages.
• Communicating with customers regarding issues.
• Examining and evaluating products for damages, documenting reasons for returns, and notifying supervisors of any issues.
• Completing assigned tasks, reports, and paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assisting with various warehouse tasks as needed, including driving a lift truck.
• Understanding and maintaining all safe work practices and rules.
• Other duties as assigned, essential or otherwise.
• Driver Requirements
• Minimum of one year driving experience
• Must have and maintain a safe driving record, valid driver's license, and up-to-date DOT medical card.
• Ability to manage time and routes for a streamlined delivery experience
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs plus bending and twisting
• Ability to safely move up to 50 lbs and more with the assistance of a partner.
• Work well in a team
• Open and transparent communication
• Familiarity with GPS devices or map apps
• Heavy lifting required. May be required to carry heavy merchandise up stairs.
• Must maintain personal appearance by following Maersk Appearance Professional Guidelines.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Experience driving a 26-foot Box Truck preferred.
• Ability to maintain heavy physical activity during shift.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, and walk frequently.
• Ability to work in in-door/out-door climate.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $650.00 - $1,250.00 per week

Day range:

• Every weekend
• Monday to Saturday

Shift:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• Morning shift
