Job Summary:
As a 12-Hour Rotating Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of approximately 30 hourly union employees in a fiberglass yarn manufacturing plant. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining safety standards, ensuring operational efficiency, and achieving production targets while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and Lead: Direct and coordinate the activities of hourly union employees on the production floor to ensure adherence to production targets and quality standards.
- Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring all employees follow safety protocols and guidelines. Conduct regular safety audits and address any hazards promptly.
- Production Oversight: Monitor and manage production processes to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
- Employee Development: Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to employees. Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve operational issues and challenges in a timely manner. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with employees, management, and other departments to ensure smooth operations. Conduct regular shift meetings to discuss performance, goals, and any concerns.
- Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on production, safety, and employee performance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Because this role supports critical manufacturing and production activities, it is required to be performed onsite. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available
