Job Description Summary
The Plumbing Manager serves as the technical authority for all plumbing systems across all Agua Caliente Casino Resort properties. This position is responsible for maintaining the reliability, safety, compliance, and efficiency of domestic water, sanitary sewer, grease waste, storm drainage, natural gas, irrigation interfaces, specialty plumbing systems, and plumbing-related infrastructure.
This position provides leadership, technical expertise, training, project management, preventive maintenance development, and quality control while supporting property Engineering Managers and Facilities Directors.
The Plumbing Manager develops plumbing standards across all properties and serves as the subject matter expert for plumbing code compliance, troubleshooting, repairs, renovations, and capital improvements.
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the plumbing Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all three casino properties.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting support for complex plumbing failures.
- Establish enterprise plumbing standards and best practices.
- Assist engineering teams during emergency plumbing failures.
- Provide technical guidance to Engineering Managers and Directors.
Preventive Maintenance
Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs including:
- Domestic water systems
- Booster pump systems
- Water heaters
- Boilers (plumbing side)
- Backflow preventers
- Pressure reducing valves
- Lift stations
- Sewage ejector systems
- Floor drains
- Grease waste systems
- Grease interceptors
- Grease lines
- Condensate drainage systems
- Gas piping inspections
Develop PM frequencies based on manufacturer recommendations, operational experience, and regulatory requirements.
Drain and Grease Management
- Develop a complete grease management program.
- Schedule and oversee grease line jetting.
- Coordinate hydro jetting services.
- Maintain grease interceptor maintenance schedules.
- Monitor grease trap performance.
- Develop drain maintenance programs to reduce emergency blockages.
- Analyze recurring drain failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Reduce plumbing-related downtime through proactive maintenance.
Training and Development
- Train Engineers in proper plumbing troubleshooting.
- Train staff on plumbing safety.
- Conduct hands-on plumbing workshops.
- Develop plumbing SOPs.
- Develop plumbing troubleshooting guides.
- Mentor engineering staff.
- Crosstrain maintenance personnel.
- Evaluate plumbing competency of team members.
Code Compliance
Ensure compliance with local governing bodies and jurisdictions.
Project Management
Manage plumbing-related capital and operational projects.
Plan Review
Provide recommendations that improve reliability and maintainability.
Vendor Management
- Manage plumbing contractors.
- Develop contractor performance standards.
- Verify quality of workmanship.
- Review invoices.
- Ensure work complies with specifications.
- Verify warranty requirements.
- Conduct contractor punch walks.
Emergency Response
Serve as lead technical resource during:
- Major water leaks
- Sewer backups
- Flooding events
- Main water failures
- Domestic water outages
- Gas leaks (plumbing systems)
- Pump failures
- Grease overflows

Qualifications:Required Education and/or Experience
- Journeyman Plumber or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of commercial plumbing experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Extensive experience with commercial hospitality, healthcare, casino, or large institutional facilities.
- Thorough knowledge of commercial plumbing systems.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of California Plumbing Code.
- Experience managing contractors and multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plumbing Contractor License
- Backflow Prevention Certification
- OSHA 10
- Project Management experience
- Experience with CMMS systems (HotSOS preferred)
- Experience with large commercial kitchens
- Experience with casino or resort facilities
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs and sitting at a desk/workstation for the duration of the shift. Must be able to work in a smoke-filled environment. Must be able to work in a “lighting subdued” environment for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions to include extreme heat and cold weather.
Typically, the individual will be housed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located in the casino environment. Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to: a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone.
