Maintenance Technician III

Deseret Cattle & Citrus is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join the local ranch team!

Summary:

The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing plant equipment, facility systems, and utilities. This role helps keep operations running safely and efficiently by reducing downtime, solving complex problems, and supporting continuous improvement. Working with minimal supervision, this position also provides guidance to other technicians and helps prioritize maintenance work.

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment, facility systems, and utilities.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and complete repairs.
• Complete preventive maintenance to keep equipment running and avoid breakdowns.
• Respond to equipment failures and help identify root causes to prevent repeat issues.
• Read and use technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to support repairs.
• Build, install, or modify parts and equipment as needed.
• Work with vendors or contractors on complex repairs or installations.
• Support equipment improvements to increase reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
• Help update maintenance procedures and work standards.
• Provide guidance and support to other technicians and assist with training.
• Help prioritize daily maintenance work and support scheduling.
• Follow all safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, GMP, etc.).
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow proper safety procedures.
• Keep accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage.
• Communicate equipment issues and repair needs to leadership.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or processing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Experience with fabrication, welding, and equipment repair.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Noise levels may range from moderate to loud, depending on equipment operation and task being performed.
• Work hours may vary due to operational needs and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, extended shifts, or seasonal demands.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, protective footwear, hearing protection, and respirators, will be provided as required by law and company policy. Employees are required to properly use designated PPE when tasks require it.
