Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and repairing imperfections using hand tools and power tools
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other coatings using brushes, rollers, airless spray equipment, or other methods to achieve smooth, even finishes
- Read blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications and ensure accurate application of materials
- Perform residential and commercial painting projects on various surfaces including walls, ceilings, trim, stucco, masonry, and fixtures
- Assist with renovation tasks such as plastering, framing, drywall installation, and restoration work to support overall project goals
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling tools like scaffolding, welding equipment, and concrete finishing tools
Experience
- Prior experience in construction painting or related trades such as renovation, restoration, or industrial painting is preferred
- Hands-on experience with hand tools (e.g., caulking guns, putty knives), power tools (e.g., drills, sanders), and airless paint spraying equipment
- Knowledge of color theory to select appropriate hues and finishes for different projects
- Experience with carpentry tasks such as trim carpentry or framing is a plus
- Previous work on construction sites involving masonry, stucco application, or concrete finishing is advantageous
