Role Overview
We are seeking a senior-level, hands-on Data Architect to support a critical data platform stabilization initiative within a complex enterprise environment for our client. This contract role requires a strong technical leader who can quickly assess existing systems, identify issues, and implement scalable, high-quality data solutions with minimal ramp-up time.
The ideal candidate combines architectural expertise with deep hands-on engineering capability, particularly across Azure-based data platforms and distributed systems. This individual will play a key role in improving data reliability, governance, and observability while working closely with engineering teams.
This position is hybrid, with 3 days/week in-office in Cleveland, OH.
NOTE: Candidates not local to Cleveland, OH will not be considered.
This role is for a 6-month contract (potential to extend).

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise data architecture and canonical data models
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and stabilize data pipelines and cross-platform data flows
- Perform hands-on SQL analysis and data reconciliation across multiple systems
- Define and enforce data governance, ownership, and quality standards
- Build and enhance data validation, monitoring, and observability frameworks
- Improve data lineage tracking and overall governance processes
- Leverage AI-driven analytics and automation tools to detect anomalies and accelerate insights
- Collaborate closely with engineering and platform teams to align data architecture with system integrations
- Strong expertise in enterprise data architecture and data modeling
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and data analysis
- Hands-on experience with Azure data platform services, including:
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure SQL / Synapse
- Experience with event-driven and distributed data systems
- Deep understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks
- Familiarity with AI-assisted analytics or automation tools
- 8–10 years of experience in data architecture or data engineering
- Proven track record designing and stabilizing enterprise-scale data platforms
- Demonstrated ability to analyze production data and resolve data integrity issues
- Experience working within cloud-based data environments, preferably Azure
- Senior or lead-level talent capable of delivering immediate impact
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in fast-paced, high-visibility environments
- A hands-on architect who can both design and execute solutions
