This role requires deep expertise in Azure data services, semantic modeling, and data governance to deliver scalable, secure, and AI-ready data solutions. The ideal candidate will own end-to-end architecture, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and executive reporting needs.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and evolve a modern Azure Lakehouse platform (Databricks, Synapse, Fabric) using layered architecture principles such as Bronze/Silver/Gold.
- Own the analytics architecture from source ingestion through curated datasets, semantic modeling, and BI consumption.
- Design governed semantic models in Power BI or equivalent platforms, ensuring certified metrics and role-based access controls.
- Implement Delta Lake architectures and layered data design patterns to optimize scalability and performance.
- Develop scalable ETL/ELT frameworks and orchestration pipelines using Python, Spark, and SQL.
- Define and enforce enterprise data governance frameworks, including metadata management, data lineage, and automated data quality monitoring.
- Implement security measures such as role-based access controls, encryption, and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOX, SOC2).
- Lead and mentor data engineers, fostering adherence to CI/CD practices and architectural best practices.
- Partner with executive leadership to align data architecture with strategic reporting and operational KPIs.
Required Skills:
- 10 years of experience in enterprise data architecture and engineering.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Synapse Analytics or Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks (Spark/PySpark), and Azure Purview or equivalent governance tools.
- Proven experience implementing Delta Lake architectures and layered data design patterns.
