What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Scheduler & Center of Excellence Lead position at Agile Group USA?
Master Scheduler & Center of Excellence Lead
Modernization Center of Excellence | Federal Programs
Remote (U.S.-based) | Occasional travel (10–15 days per year)
This Is Not a Typical Scheduler Role
Let's be clear upfront: This position is not about building and maintaining project schedules.
If you're looking to work day-to-day with project managers updating task lists, managing baselines, or tracking critical paths—this isn't that role.
This is for schedulers who have moved beyond execution and are ready to architect how scheduling is done. You'll leverage your years of hands-on experience with Primavera and Oracle Primavera Cloud to design training programs, establish enterprise standards, and elevate an entire organization's scheduling capability.
This is next-level scheduling for professionals who can create the frameworks, policies, and training that others will follow.
About This Role
Agile Group is establishing a Center of Excellence for Scheduling to modernize how a major federal government client manages enterprise programs. We need a Master Scheduler who can:
- Design comprehensive training curricula
- Establish enterprise scheduling standards and governance
- Mentor federal schedulers and project teams
- Drive the migration from legacy Primavera P6 to Oracle Primavera Cloud
If you've spent your career thinking "I could redesign how this should be taught and practiced"—not just execute someone else's process—this role is for you.
What You'll Actually Do
Develop and Deliver Advanced Scheduling Training
Create a comprehensive, real-world training program tailored to our federal client's needs. You'll build the curriculum from the ground up, develop all training materials, and deliver the course five times over the next year. This isn't off-the-shelf content—it's your expertise translated into a program that produces master schedulers.
Establish the Center of Excellence
Define the scheduling standards, tools, policies, and governance frameworks that will guide work across the client's modernization portfolio. You'll create the playbook that balances technical rigor with practical implementation.
Lead the Primavera P6 to Oracle Cloud Migration
Guide teams through the technical and organizational challenges of platform modernization. This requires deep knowledge of both systems and the ability to help organizations change how they work.
Mentor Scheduling Professionals
Serve as the expert advisor for project teams navigating complex scheduling challenges. Your role is to elevate their capabilities and help them solve problems independently.
Brief Senior Leadership
Translate schedule complexity into executive insights. Client leaders will rely on your analysis to make critical program decisions affecting billions in federal infrastructure and national security investments.
Who Thrives in This Role
You're an educator and strategist, not just a practitioner.
You don't just know scheduling—you can articulate why certain approaches work and help others develop true mastery. You've probably thought about how you'd redesign the training you received early in your career.
You have deep Primavera expertise.
Years of hands-on experience with Primavera P6 and Oracle Primavera Cloud. You understand the technical architecture, best practices, and common pitfalls of both platforms.
You're energized by building, not just maintaining.
You want to create training programs, write policies, establish standards, and shape how an organization approaches scheduling—not just update task lists week after week.
You understand federal programs.
You've worked with federal agencies or DoD programs and understand the unique stakeholder dynamics, compliance requirements, and decision-making rhythms of government work.
You're proactive and solutions-oriented.
You identify issues early and bring recommendations, not just problems. You build trust through reliability, expertise, and results.
You value rigor and standards.
You believe in doing scheduling right, not just doing it fast. You can explain why certain practices matter and hold the line when it counts.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $140,000 – $155,000 annually, based on experience and training/development expertise
- 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company matching
- Annual profit-sharing opportunities
- Generous PTO, federal holidays, and flexible scheduling
- Professional development budget (certifications, conferences, training)
- Fully remote with occasional travel for training delivery and stakeholder engagement
Why Agile Group?
We're a fast-growing, woman-owned small business that wins work by delivering excellence, not just checking boxes. Our federal clients trust us because we bring innovation and rigor in equal measure.
In this role, you'll have direct impact on how a major federal agency manages billions of dollars in infrastructure and national security programs. You'll help build the next generation of federal schedulers. And you'll do it as part of a collaborative team that values creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
If you're ready to move from executing schedules to shaping how scheduling is done, we'd love to hear from you.
